A late Victorian sterling silver oval brooch with applied rose gold-toned floral decoration, manufactured by Smith and Ewen. The central motif features a sprig with three bell-shaped flowers and textured foliage. The silver base has a decorative border consisting of a chased scalloped edge. The reverse is fitted with a long hinged pin extending beyond the body and secured with a C-clasp. Hallmarked on the reverse with the maker mark S and E for Smith and Ewen, the Birmingham anchor assay office mark, the lion passant indicating sterling silver fineness, and the lowercase date letter b for the year 1901. Presented in a modern fitted jewellery box.
