A fireplace grate with integrated fire dogs, designed in the Georgian style. The unit is constructed from a cast iron frame featuring a bowed front with horizontal bars. The integrated fire dogs comprise scrolled iron legs terminating in brass-capped feet, each surmounted by a large polished spherical brass finial. The rear of the grate is supported by vertical iron uprights. Two printed paper inventory labels numbered 1589 are affixed to the right-hand upright. No maker marks are visible on the object.
