An assortment of dark hardwood carvings, possibly rosewood, including two standing figures of the immortal Shou Lao, a carved elephant, and a footed vessel. The figures of Shou Lao, the God of Longevity, are traditionally rendered on pierced openwork rockwork bases, with one figure holding a staff and the other carrying a basket. The elephant is modelled in a standing pose with inset white tusks. The footed vessel or mortar features a band of relief-carved foliate patterns around the exterior. The group exhibits a dark, polished patina consistent with aged hardwood. White paper auction labels numbered 1001 are affixed to several pieces.
Tallest: 13 inches.
