A detailed scale reproduction of a United States Navy Mark V deep-sea diving helmet, standing 8 inches in height. This piece is constructed from spun copper for the bonnet and breastplate, accented with heavy cast brass fittings throughout. The model replicates the standard configuration of the full-scale apparatus, featuring four barred viewports, a side exhaust valve, and a rear air intake elbow. The breastplate is finished with twelve brass wing nuts and carries an oval brass identification plaque. The plaque bears the following inscription: U.S. NAVY DIVING HELMET, MARK V, MORSE DIVING EQUIPMENT CO. INC., BOSTON, MASS., NO. 5255, DATE 1941.
