A collection of publications and memorabilia relating to Rupert Bear, primarily issued to commemorate the character’s centenary. The group includes several hardcover volumes: Rupert: A Celebration of Favourite Stories, marking 100 Years of Rupert Bear 1920-2020, with illustrations by Alfred E. Bestall and bound in blue cloth with gilt titles; a facsimile edition of The New Rupert Book (originally published as the 1938 annual); and a Rupert Classic 1963 Annual limited edition reproduction bound in blue cloth. Also present are multiple modern Rupert Annuals, including a 100 Years of Adventure anniversary edition with pictorial boards. The collection further contains a Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus Rupert and the Frog Song shaped picture disc or record in a clear plastic sleeve, and a Daily Express Saturday magazine supplement dated 13 May 2000 featuring a Rupert retrospective titled Indomitable Images. Additional ephemera includes a Royal Mail First Class Greetings Stamps pack with Rupert-themed designs and a matching postcard. The books are primarily quarto and large octavo in size, constructed with pictorial paper boards or publisher’s cloth.
