A substantial collection of international prepaid phone cards, or telecards, primarily originating from Greece and Spain and dating from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. The cards are organised into two ring-binder albums, one red and one blue, containing clear plastic multi-pocket sleeves. A significant portion of the collection consists of cards issued by OTE, the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation, featuring various Greek landscapes, traditional architecture, and historical sites. Visible text on these cards includes OTE, THLEKARTA, and specific location names such as Armenon – Xania and Amiras Biannou – Irakleio. These cards are typically denominated in Greek Drachma, for example 1000 DRX. The collection also features a diverse range of Spanish cards issued by Telefonica. Notable thematic sets include the Razas Ibericas series featuring illustrated dog breeds such as Mastin del Pirineo, Sabueso Espanol, Majorero, and Alano Espanol. Other series present include commemorative cards for Xacobeo ’99 and various promotional cards for services such as MoviStar, SuperCall, and Eurocity. Many of the Spanish cards display dual denominations in Pesetas and Euros, reflecting the currency transition period circa 1999 to 2002. The cards are constructed from plastic-coated cardstock with either magnetic strips or integrated circuit chips. Some of the plastic sleeves contain handwritten pencil or ink notations likely related to collector cataloguing.
