A glazed earthenware novelty teapot of globular form, produced as part of the Genuine Beano Ware range and licensed by D.C. Thomson and Co. Ltd. The teapot and its matching lid are decorated with a relief-moulded brickwork pattern in a terracotta-orange glaze. The body is further embellished with several relief-moulded character faces from the iconic British comic The Beano, including Dennis the Menace, Gnasher, and members of The Bash Street Kids such as Fatty and Smiffy. The piece is fitted with a simple white glazed handle and spout. This item is accompanied by its original red and black striped retail box featuring various character illustrations and the Genuine Beano Ware logo. The sculptural style of the character faces is attributed to Peter Mook.
