This lot includes a group of industrial safety and railway maintenance items. It features several framed safety notices titled Abrasive Wheel Regulations 1970, which were a legal requirement in British workshops to display safe operating speeds and machine specifications. The notices are hand-inscribed with details for specific grinding machinery, including a Rowland type TSB 643, a Wolf Twin Stone grinder type ZC 3, and a Milford type TSB 547. Accompanying these is a large railway track gauge, constructed with a hardwood shaft and fitted with steel end plates and a central brass-housed spirit level. The metal plates are stamped with the marks B.R. for British Railways and the reference JS 129/64. This tool was designed to measure track distance and cant during rail maintenance.
Approximate length of gauge: 1.5 – 1.8 metres.
