Buyer's Premium:

A collection of technical publications and personal records relating to Royal Navy diving and gunnery operations, dating primarily from the 1940s and 1950s. The lot includes a large-format manual for Pattern 5561 C.D.B.A. (Clearance Diver’s Breathing Apparatus) and Pattern 5562 S.W.B.A. (Shallow Water Breathing Apparatus), dated 1953, in a dark textured binding. This is accompanied by B.R. 155/43 The Diving Manual and a restricted-issue B.R. 292 Manual for the Maintenance of Naval Ordnance and Gunnery Equipment housed in a blue three-pin binder.

The collection contains two S.288 Record of Diving Practice log books (established 1914, revised 1946). One is labelled for deep-dives carried out onboard HMS Forth in Malta, associated with HMS Jamaica. The second log is labelled for the diving store of HMS Jamaica. Personal ephemera includes a George VI era S.O. Book 135 marked Diver III and bearing the name Ian G. Smith, an Elizabeth II era S.O. Book, and a stationery pad for HMS Vengeance featuring the Royal Navy crest.
