An original lithographic advertising poster for the First Aviation Meeting in England, held at Doncaster from 15th to 23rd October 1909. The graphic design features a large monoplane, resembling a Bleriot XI, set against a two-tone green background. The composition includes silhouettes of two biplanes and an architectural illustration of the Doncaster Racecourse grandstands. The text lists prominent early aviators engaged for the event: Cody, Delagrange, Farman, Sommer, Leblon, Molon, Prevot, and De La Vaux. A vertical pencil annotation is visible in the upper right corner, including the characters W, F, C, A, R, D and further illegible letters, likely a previous owner’s mark. No printer or lithographer marks are visible on the front of the sheet.
