This lot contains two silver brooches of differing styles. The first is a circular openwork Celtic brooch featuring a four-fold symmetrical interwoven knotwork design. The reverse rim is stamped Iona and 925, identifying it as a piece of Iona silver and confirming its sterling silver purity. It is fitted with a pin and a revolving rollover safety catch. The second item is an antique silver bar brooch featuring three conjoined open-work heart-shaped panels in a vertical sweetheart design. The central heart is decorated with an embossed bird amongst floral foliage, while the top and bottom hearts each contain a single four-petaled flower. The outer edges of the hearts are accented with small silver spheres. The piece features a long bar pin with a traditional C-clasp. An indistinct rectangular mark is present on the reverse of the central heart.
