A vintage fine bone china tea service for six persons manufactured by Duchess, England, in the Greensleeves pattern. The service features transfer-printed floral sprays of pale yellow and apricot-coloured flowers amongst soft sage-green foliage. Each piece is finished with a hand-applied gold gilded rim. The service comprises 27 pieces including a globular-form teapot with matching lid, a creamer, an open sugar bowl, six teacups of rounded form with scrolled handles, six saucers, six tea plates, and six dessert plates. The undersides of the pieces bear a backstamp in green and gold featuring a crown symbol above the word DUCHESS in script, with BONE CHINA, MADE IN ENGLAND, and the number 348 in block capitals. The pattern name GREENSLEEVES is printed in gold block capitals.
