This Royal Doulton glazed porcelain figurine is titled Thanks Doc! and carries the model number HN 2731. Modelled by William K. Harper, the piece depicts a veterinarian with grey hair and a moustache, dressed in a white lab coat over a shirt and tie. He is shown gently examining a tricolour dog that is standing upon a beige examination cabinet. The cabinet features moulded drawer and cupboard details with a white cloth draped over one side. The underside of the base features a full suite of factory markings including the Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp, the title Thanks Doc!, model number HN 2731, and the modeller credit for William K. Harper. It also includes a 1974 copyright mark for Royal Doulton Tableware Limited and a hand-painted black letter D. A gold oval sticker with the title is also present on the base.
