Buyer's Premium:

A large Parian-style bust of a young girl, featuring a model frequently attributed to Grinam Niam. The subject is depicted with a serene expression, looking slightly to one side. She is shown wearing a voluminous, ruffled bonnet, often referred to as a mob cap or Charlotte Corday cap, characteristic of late 18th-century fashion. Her attire consists of a simple, gathered chemise-style garment featuring a delicate ribbon bow at the centre of the neckline. The piece is mounted on a traditional turned socle base. The material has the characteristic matte finish and creamy-white tone associated with Parian ware, a type of unglazed bisque porcelain intended to imitate Carrara marble. No factory marks, maker’s stamps, or signatures are visible on the piece.

Depth: Approximately 8 – 9 inches (20 – 23 cm).
