A set of ten square glazed earthenware decorative wall tiles. Each tile features a symmetrical, transfer-printed central floral motif, reminiscent of a peony or carnation, surrounded by elaborate scrolling foliate and acanthus leaf borders. The decoration is rendered in a deep bottle green against a white ground, characteristic of late 19th-century Arts and Crafts or late Victorian design. The reverse of each tile features an impressed grid for mortar adhesion. The word ENGLAND is impressed across the centre in spaced characters. A circular factory mark is present in the lower corner of the reverse, though the internal details are not clearly legible.
Dimensions: 15.2 x 15.2 cm (6 x 6 inches) each.
