Two antique or vintage helmet shaped coal scuttles of differing sizes and finishes. The larger scuttle is constructed from sheet metal with a black painted finish. It is detailed with a decorative brass band to the lower section and features a tubular brass swing handle alongside a fixed brass loop handle to the rear for pouring. The smaller scuttle is made of blackened metal, likely iron or steel, with a matching swing handle and a rear fixed loop handle. Both items feature rolled seams and riveted brackets. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on either piece.
