This large ecclesiastical altar crucifix is constructed from cast brass and stands 25 inches tall. The design incorporates revivalist elements, including Gothic foliate terminals on the arms of the cross and a Rococo-style domed base decorated with shell and scroll motifs. The central cross has a textured finish, onto which a separately cast corpus of Christ is mounted. Positioned above the head of the figure is a scrolled titulus bearing the letters INRI in decorative script. The base is weighted for stability and rests on four integrated scroll feet. The item is offered in as found condition.
