A pair of mid-20th century British school landscapes by Neville James Hague (1928-2001). Each work is executed in watercolour with bodycolour highlights on textured watercolour paper. The first composition depicts a rutted farm track through open fields leading toward a stand of trees under a pale, atmospheric sky. The second work shows a copse of winter trees at the edge of a fenced field. Both paintings are rendered in a traditional, expressive style. Each work bears the signature of the artist, Neville James Hague, in the lower corner. The paintings are housed in matching mahogany-stained wood frames with gilt-finished inner slips and are mounted under glass, one with a sage green mat and the other with a buff-coloured mat.
