The figure is naturalistically rendered with textured detailing representing overlapping feathers on the wings, body, and tail. The sculpture is finished in a dark black patinated or painted coating. The form is highly characteristic of the iconic prop falcon from the 1941 film The Maltese Falcon. No maker marks, factory stamps, or signatures are visible on the piece.
