A pair of sculptures by the artist Hardy, depicting a male and female golfer in early 20th-century attire. The male figure, often titled ‘Plus Fours’, is wearing a flat cap, a detailed patterned sweater, and knickerbockers. The female figure, known as ‘Birdie’, is dressed in a textured hat, a patterned jacket, and a long skirt. Both figures hold golf clubs and stand on integral, tiered rectangular bases with textured tops. Each piece is marked with the incised signature HARDY on the upper surface of the base The figures are finished in a deep brown patina with lighter highlights to emphasise the detailed textures of the knitwear and clothing.
