This lot comprises eight silver-plated service pieces manufactured for the Cunard Line by Mappin & Webb. The collection includes a variety of hollowware items such as teapots, hot water or coffee pots, creamers, and a sugar bowl. The pieces are constructed from Mappin & Webb’s Prince’s Plate, a proprietary high-quality electroplate. Each vessel features a functional, streamlined design typical of mid-20th-century maritime service. The side of each piece is engraved with the Cunard Line crest, depicting a crown above a lion rampant holding a globe, with the name CUNARD within a banner below. The undersides of the items are stamped with MAPPIN & WEBB’S PRINCE’S PLATE LONDON & SHEFFIELD. Additional smaller markings include a W within a shield and the letters B and v within a diamond-shaped border.
