A collection of ten framed black and white silver gelatin prints, primarily documenting social history and maritime activity in Whitby and North Yorkshire coastal towns. The images are executed in the style of Frank Meadow Sutcliffe and include scenes of tall ships in a harbour, quayside markets with groups of women and children, and character portraits of local fishermen. One print depicts a shopfront with visible advertisements featuring the words ARMED, MANIAC, and WHITBY. Another print shows a fisherman wearing a cork lifejacket. The collection is housed in a variety of wooden frames including mahogany-toned, light oak, and a decorative frame with a checkered wood inlay. These are later 20th-century high-quality monochrome prints.
