A pair of large-scale commemorative medals attributed to American Mint. The first medal commemorates the 1953 coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II, featuring relief decoration and the central inscription CORONATION OF H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II 1953. The rim is incised with the legend GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS QUEEN, LONG LIVE OUR NOBLE QUEEN, HAPPY AND GLORIOUS, LONG TO REIGN OVER US; GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! and the initials D.G. REGINA. The second medal is a 2018 First World War Centenary commemorative from the 1918 complete collection. It is constructed of gold-plated copper with a pad-printed colour design and bears the inscriptions THE END OF WORLD WAR I and ARMISTICE. The lot includes a technical information card for the 2018 issue.
