A Mid-Century Modern art glass vase of tapered ovoid form, executed using the sommerso technique. The piece features a central amber-toned core encased within a thick layer of smoke-grey glass, further enclosed by a clear outer casing. The vase is characterised by its significant weight and thick-walled construction, terminating in a small circular aperture at the neck. The base is flat and polished. While the style is reminiscent of mid-20th century production from Murano or Scandinavia, such as the work of Armando Jacobino for Oy Kumela or Göran Wärff for Kosta Boda, the item is unsigned and lacks definitive maker’s marks.
Height: 23cm.
