A large lidded stoneware storage jar of ovoid form, typically used for food preservation. The vessel is constructed with two integrated lug handles at the shoulder and a wide mouth. It is finished with a traditional two-tone glaze scheme featuring a glossy reddish-brown glaze on the upper section and a matching domed lid with a central knob handle. The lower section of the jar remains unglazed, showing the natural buff-coloured stoneware body. Such utility jars are often categorised as confit pots or storage crocks. No impressed or incised marks were identified on the body, lid, or handles.
Height: 15 inches.
