This lot comprises a collection of hand-knitted soft toys and character dolls, many of which are based on patterns by Jean Greenhowe. The figures are constructed from multi-coloured yarn and represent various personas. Included in the collection is a traditional British policeman in a blue uniform and helmet, a male figure with a black moustache and spectacles, and a clown featuring a red pom-pom nose. The other dolls represent various female and child characters in patterned knitted clothing. The eyes are fixed and are either embroidered or made of small black safety beads. Hair is created using yarn in shades of yellow, pink, brown, and black. All clothing is integral to the dolls’ construction.
Height ranges approximately from 15cm to 35cm.
