A large-scale contemporary decorative sculpture depicting an apple, constructed from ceramic. The piece is finished with a high-gloss glaze in mottled shades of deep red and green, intended to simulate the natural colouring of ripening fruit. The glaze displays iridescent and metallic surface qualities reminiscent of a raku or lustre finish. The sculpture is completed with a curved, dark-toned metal stem set into a central depression at the top. The work is characteristic of late 20th-century oversized pop art or novelty interior decor. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior.
