A pair of anatomical atlases published in London by Bailliere, Tindall and Cox, comprising Bailliere’s Popular Atlas of the Anatomy and Physiology of the Male Human Body (stated Second Edition) and the Female Human Body (stated Third Edition). Both volumes feature descriptive text by Hubert E. J. Biss, M.A., M.D., Cantab., with anatomical plates by Georges M. Dupuy, M.D. The works are bound in large-format illustrated paper-covered boards with black cloth-reinforced spines. The internal contents consist of multiple plates, including colour lithographs of muscular and internal organ systems and monochrome diagrams of skeletal and surface anatomy. Several plates feature a multi-layered design with movable flaps to demonstrate anatomical depth. The accompanying text includes numbered keys corresponding to the illustrations.
