A three-bottle tantalus liquor set featuring a dark-stained wooden case, possibly mahogany or oak. The frame is constructed with a central upright locking bar and decorative brass corner plates. To either side, the case is fitted with ornate brass lion-mask drop handles. The set contains three matching square-section clear crystal decanters. The cutting pattern on the bottles consists of a band of diamond criss-cross cuts situated above deep vertical flutes around the base. Each decanter is fitted with a heavy, spherical stopper featuring multiple flat-facet cuts. The crystal exhibits high clarity and refractive properties characteristic of lead glass. The case retains a brass key currently shown in the locking mechanism. The design and construction are consistent with British manufacture from the late 19th to early 20th century.
