A contemporary studio pottery stoneware cup of tapered cylindrical form, narrowing to an unglazed buff-coloured foot. The vessel is decorated with a multi-tonal glaze that transitions from a deep cobalt blue at the rim to a bright turquoise-teal body. A prominent horizontal band of textured, volcanic or crawled glaze in shades of cream, buff, and dark brown encircles the middle of the piece. The interior is finished with a smooth, glossy turquoise-teal glaze. The unglazed base features an impressed circular seal mark containing two lowercase characters, interpreted as the letters j and p.
Height: Approximately 6.5 cm.
