An assortment of marine mollusc shells comprising a variety of bivalve and gastropod specimens. The collection features several scallop shells from the family Pectinidae in a range of sizes and colours, notably a prominent bright orange-red valve and several large white and brown-ribbed specimens. Gastropod examples include spiral whelk-type shells and an elongated olive shell from the family Olividae with a characteristic brown zigzag pattern. Interspersed among the shells are several smooth, white beach-worn stones and fragments. Included in the group are two small shell-craft figurines, shaped to resemble mice or pigs, constructed from small gastropod shells with added facial features. A circular yellow souvenir tag from Torremolinos, Costa del Sol, Spain, is present, suggesting a Mediterranean origin for at least part of the collection. The specimens are currently housed loose within a blue plastic lattice crate.
