A two-piece set comprising a teapot and a tall coffee or hot water pot manufactured by S. Fielding and Co. Ltd of Stoke-on-Trent. The items are constructed from ceramic with a thick electro-deposited silver coating known as Silverine. Designed in the Art Deco style, each piece features a flared rim, gadrooned decoration to the lower body, and angular black composite handles and finials. The base of the pieces bears a pink printed backstamp including a crown and butterfly motif, with the text DEVON SILVERINE, FIELDING’S, STOKE ON TRENT, and MADE IN ENGLAND. Hand-painted black characters 2/92 and 0690 are also present.
