An antique precision balance scale by W. J. George & Co., Manchester & Birmingham. This instrument is presented within a rectangular dark-stained wooden case featuring glass panels on all visible sides. The scale mechanism, crafted from brass, displays a rich, aged patina, comprising a central pillar, beam, and two circular weighing pans suspended by brass hangers. A collection of assorted weights, varying in size and material (some brass, others with darker patination), are arranged on the wooden base inside the case. The wooden case exhibits expected wear, minor scratches, and a small wooden pull knob on the lower front.
