A mid-20th-century stainless steel manual wind wristwatch by Omega, identified as reference 2165. This piece is distinguished by a highly unconventional inverted dial configuration where the Arabic numeral 12 is positioned at the 6 o’clock mark and the sub-seconds dial is located at the 12 o’clock position. The cream-coloured dial features even-numbered Arabic numerals in a reversed sequence and rectangular luminous hour markers. The dial is marked with the Omega logo and name below the centre arbor, with the words MADE and SWISS flanking the sub-seconds dial. The watch is housed in a stainless steel case with drilled lugs and a notched screw-down case back. It features blued steel hour and minute hands with luminous inserts and is fitted to an aftermarket brown leather strap with contrast stitching. This reference is historically associated with military and civil service issues from the 1940s, although the unique dial orientation suggests a specialised custom order or historical modification.
