A cast brass mantel clock of architectural form, designed in the French Louis XVI or Napoleon III revival style. The brass case is heavily decorated with cast foliate scrollwork and floral motifs. The side panels feature a central lyre motif within a laurel wreath border. The clock is surmounted by an ornate ring handle and is supported by four scrolled feet. The circular brass dial plate is cast with decorative patterns and features twelve white enamel cartouches bearing black Roman numerals. It is fitted with ornate, dark-finished hands and two winding apertures. The underside reveals a mechanical twin-barrel movement with an internal bell strike mechanism.
