A traditional garden bird bath cast in weathered reconstituted stone. The piece features a circular bowl with a wide rim, supported by a pedestal with a moulded imbricated scale pattern, resting on a square base. A small cast stone figurine of a bird is attached to the rim of the bowl. The upper surface of the rim is embossed with a verse from the poem God’s Garden by Dorothy Frances Gurney, reading: THE KISS OF THE SUN FOR PARDON THE SONG OF THE BIRDS FOR MIRTH ONE IS NEARER GODS HEART IN A GARDEN THAN ANYWHERE ELSE ON EARTH. The stone has a pitted texture and a dark, aged patina from long-term outdoor placement.
