An assortment of ceramic and miscellaneous items primarily relating to the history of Methodism and its prominent figures. The group includes a rectangular white porcelain teapot commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of John Wesley (1703-2003) with a black and red transfer-printed portrait and facsimile signature; a circular white teapot featuring a Wesley portrait in a brown circular frame with a relief-moulded floral finial and multi-strand handle; and a white biscuit or parian porcelain bust of John Wesley. Included are several commemorative mugs: a 250th Conversion Anniversary mug (1738-1988), a 300th birth anniversary mug for Epworth Rectory, a portrait mug of Hugh Bourne, and a small mustache cup depicting the New Wesleyan Chapel, Longwood, and Masham. A large gilded tankard features ornate script for M. Hodgson. Decorative plates and saucers comprise a blue and white transfer-printed Primitive Methodist Centenary plate for Mow Hill (1807), a green transfer-printed New Wesleyan Chapel saucer, a Methodist Church 1909-1960 commemorative saucer, and a small blue jasperware-style plaque with a white relief profile portrait. Also present is a heavy circular brass medallion for the Epworth Wesley Memorial Church Centenary 1888-1988. Decoration techniques include monochrome and polychrome transfer printing, relief moulding, and gilding.
