This decorative walking cane features a handle cast from a yellow-toned metal, identified as brass, shaped in the form of a bird of prey head. The handle includes a hooked beak and incised linear patterns to represent feathering. The shaft is made of straight, polished wood with a reddish-brown grain and a high-gloss finish. The base is fitted with a black rubber or composite ferrule. There are no maker’s marks or hallmarks present on the handle or shaft. A small white adhesive label with the numerals 4459 is attached to the wooden shaft.
