A collection of UK and Commonwealth commemorative coins and a George VI florin. The assembly primarily consists of copper-nickel crowns issued between 1965 and 1990. Included are 1965 Sir Winston Churchill commemorative crowns, 1972 Silver Wedding crowns for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and 1977 Silver Jubilee crowns. The group also features 1980 Queen Mother 80th birthday crowns, 1981 Royal Wedding crowns for the Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer, including one example in a Yorkshire Bank promotional folder, and a 1990 five-pound crown for the Queen Mother’s 90th birthday. Commonwealth issues include 1968 and 1969 Gibraltar crowns. A single George VI florin (two shillings) is present, housed in a red velvet-lined presentation box, with the obverse inscription GEORGIUS VI D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX. Most coins are silver-coloured in appearance and are housed in individual square plastic cases with descriptive card inserts.
