A pair of Italian decorative wall-hanging figures of musical cherubs, manufactured by Fontanini and designed by Simonelli. The figures are constructed from hand-painted moulded resin or composite material. The pair consists of two winged putti depicted in flight with flowing drapery. One figure is shown playing a mandolin-style instrument with blue drapery, while the other plays a circular stringed instrument with yellow drapery. The wings are finished with a gilt-bronze effect. The reverse of the drapery on both figures features the incised mark Simonelli. The reverse of the yellow-draped figure’s instrument bears the incised mark © ITALY 1984. Both items retain their original hanging cords on the reverse.
