A 56-piece fine bone china tea service manufactured by the New Chelsea Porcelain Co. Ltd of Staffordshire. The set features a transfer-printed floral pattern consisting of pink rose sprays and small purple blossoms set against a white ground. The decoration is finished with hand-painted gilded accents to the rims and scrolled handles. Several pieces within the service feature fluted or scalloped borders. The collection includes teacups, saucers, side plates, a large circular cake plate, and a milk jug. The base of the items bears the factory mark featuring a stylized anchor above the words New Chelsea Staffs in cursive script, with MADE IN ENGLAND and FINE BONE CHINA in block capitals. Hand-painted marks including the number 54 and vertical tally marks are also present on the underside of the pieces.
