A mid-20th-century African-style figural table lamp. The base is hand-carved from a single block of dark hardwood, possibly ebony, featuring a polished finish that highlights the natural grain and deep tones. The carving depicts the bust of a woman with textured hair, with a smaller figure representing a child carried on her back. The lamp is fitted with a brass-toned metal B22 bayonet bulb holder with an integrated push-bar on/off switch and gold-toned plastic-coated flex. No maker or factory marks are present, though a small adhesive label with the digits 5851 is located on the reverse.
