This pair of putto or cherub figurines is manufactured by Fontanini. The figures are constructed from moulded composite resin, likely containing crushed alabaster, featuring a matte finish and hand-painted details to the faces and accessories. One figure is depicted holding a blue sphere aloft, accompanied by a small light-coloured animal resembling a lamb or goat. The second figure is depicted holding a dark pipe or flute, accompanied by a dark-green animal resembling a seal or sea lion. Both figures are mounted on scrolling shell-form bases decorated with gilt-effect highlights and floral motifs. The underside of the base features raised lettering that reads DEPOSE ITALY and the number 715, adjacent to a stylised spider symbol.
