A set of six glazed earthenware items featuring the blue and white Willow pattern, produced for Ringtons Limited Tea Merchants. The collection includes a teapot and cover, a hot water jug or coffee pot and cover, a twin-handled sugar bowl and cover, a milk jug, a square-section storage jar or caddy and cover, and a small rectangular open stand. Each piece is designed with an angular, octagonal-sided form and decorated with traditional transfer-printed oriental landscapes depicting pagodas, bridges, and trees. The items are finished with gilt highlights to the rims, handles, and finials. While no manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior, this specific design and pattern are associated with the tea merchant Ringtons.
