A three-piece silver-plated tea and coffee service by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield, England, comprising a coffee pot, a twin-handled sugar bowl, and a milk jug. The set is executed in the Rococo Revival style with each piece featuring a lobed, baluster form. The exterior surfaces are decorated with chased and embossed foliate scrolls, floral sprays, and rocaille motifs. The coffee pot is designed with a tall form, a hinged domed lid topped with a floral finial, a high-arched C-scroll handle with a thumb rest, and a swan-neck spout with foliate detailing. The sugar bowl and milk jug feature scalloped rims and ornate scroll handles. All three pieces are elevated on four cast, openwork scroll feet. The base of the service is stamped with the James Dixon and Sons trade mark of a bugle with a banner, alongside the inscriptions JAMES DIXON & SONS, BRITANNIA METAL, and ELECTRO PLATED. Additional stamped marks include the alphanumeric characters L 7, the pattern number 2943, and S 62.
