This collection of maritime interest items comprises two silver-plated two-handled bowls and a coordinating spoon, manufactured by Elkington and Co. for the Cunard Line. The pieces feature a functional mid-century design with Art Deco influence, characterised by plain polished circular bodies and twin angular, stepped handles. The larger bowl is stamped to the base with the pattern number 37185, an E and CO shield, four pseudo-hallmarks, ELKINGTON PLATE, ENGLAND, a V date letter within a shield for 1956, and 10.OZ – CAP. It also bears the embossed house crest of the Cunard Line, depicting a crowned lion rampant holding a globe above the name CUNARD. The smaller bowl is stamped with 37185, ELKINGTON PLATE, ENGLAND, an R date letter for 1952, and 5 OZ CAP, alongside the matching Cunard crest. The spoon features an embossed crowned garter crest containing a lion rampant at the handle terminal, with illegible pseudo-hallmarks to the reverse of the neck.
