A complete five-coin commemorative set issued by The Royal Mint to mark the 50th anniversary of the 50p denomination. Titled the British Culture Set, the collection features five re-issued designs of significant 50p coins from the preceding fifty years. The set includes the Britannia definitive design by Christopher Ironside, the Roger Bannister sub-four-minute mile design by James Butler, the Scouting movement centenary design by Kerry Davies, the Kew Gardens 250th anniversary design by Christopher Le Brun, and the Girlguiding centenary design by Jonathan Evans and Donna Hainan.
Each coin is struck in cupro-nickel and features the 2019 obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. The coins are housed within their original printed cardboard presentation folder, which includes technical specifications and historical context for each design, accompanied by a protective outer sleeve. Transcribed markings on the folder and sleeve include The Royal Mint. Coin obverses are struck with ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 50 PENCE 2019.
