This item consists of a vintage cast-iron sewing machine head manufactured by The Singer Manufacturing Company, which has been repurposed and mounted onto a modern wheeled chassis to create a sculptural folk art object. The sewing machine head is identified as a Model 27, featuring remnants of gold-toned Egyptian-style Sphinx scrollwork and floral transfer decals over a black finish. A brass-coloured circular trade mark badge for The Singer Manfg. Co. is affixed to the body. The unit is supported by a fabricated frame consisting of two large rear rubber tyres marked 200×50 and NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE on silver-toned multi-spoke rims, and two smaller black wheels on a front axle. The assembly represents a piece of industrial-style folk art, combining early 20th-century mechanical components with contemporary repurposed materials.
