The lot consists of a large Victorian family Bible and a canvas rucksack. The Bible was published by Daniel Chadwick in Accrington, Lancashire, as indicated on the title page. It is bound in leather over heavy boards, featuring embossed Gothic architectural motifs including cathedral-style spires and arches. The interior contains a chromolithographed title page with architectural borders and religious figures. The rucksack is constructed from khaki/olive-drab canvas with brown leather fittings. It features a main compartment with a rounded top flap and a smaller secondary front pocket. Both flaps are finished with leather piping and secured by leather straps with steel roller buckles. The leather straps exhibit a pebbled texture, a feature characteristic of German military equipment from the early-to-mid 20th century. The bag includes metal eyelets for a drawstring closure and leather reinforcement patches at the lower corners. While the hardware and leather style resemble German military patterns such as those used by the Wehrmacht or during the Imperial period, the association with a British-published Bible suggests a potential British civilian or private-purchase origin. No military unit stamps or maker marks are visible on the rucksack.
