A collection of eight pairs of vintage scissors and shears of various sizes and applications. The group comprises large industrial-style tailor’s shears, household scissors, and a pair of pinking shears. Material construction is primarily steel and iron. One large pair of shears is stamped Whiteley & Sons, Sheffield near the pivot point. A smaller pair of shears is marked Klaas, Solingen. The pinking shears are stamped Made in England. A small pair of all-metal scissors features the stamped characters IC near the pivot. Several examples retain black japanned finishes on the handles. The items date from the late 19th to the mid-20th century.
